Hello everybody, sorry for the long absence.
I am sorry to say that the Curinga Photo Gallery (galleries.curinga.com) is unavailable for the time being. I need to find a day or two to update the software to get it running again (and this might not happen for another month).
In the meantime, we’re looking forward to a good summer, with the hot weather already here.

We had a very nice Easter celebration over the weekend. Diego was very excited about coloring eggs (and eating lots of candy). It was the first time that all of the new generation (including Eloy) were together. Very nice. Check out some photos in the gallery.

It’s nice to be home after a wonderful Christmas. We were all sad that Eileen was sick and couldn’t really join us in the festivities, but we’re looking forward to celebrating and exchanging gifts with her next weekend. We (Matt, Cynthia, Diego, & Fiona) spent Christmas Eve at the Yahias. The food was excellent as usual, including vegetarian stuffed cabbage. One highlight was John and Leslie playing guitar and singing Christmas songs. Margarita even took the lead on Silent Night.
Two Kings
Nicole, Beck, and crowd all went to Floyd’s for a last minute Christmas Eve celebration after we realized that my mother wouldn’t be able to host. Floyd and the girls put together a great spread on very short notice.
On Christmas Day we headed out to New Jersey, to the Iorio house in Maplewood. The boys had a great time playing and we had some more great food.
All in all a success. No fights.

We went to Ariana’s second birthday yesterday at Dan (Frey) and Diana’s apartment. The party was great. The highlight for Diego, besides the chocolate birthday cake, was the singer. I was only able to snap a few photos before Fiona woke up from her nap.

We were up at Beck and Max’s new apartment over the weekend. Things are starting to come together and they are beginning to accumulate more baby stuff.
To get even more, they are now registered for a few things at Target and Babies R Us.

It was a nice, warm night in Brooklyn for Halloween. We started off with a quick slice at the pizza place on the corner, so that we had something in our bellies other than candy. Then we took a short trick-or-treating walk. Cynthia and Matt wore their old carnivale masks. Diego was a bat, he was very cute, but it might not have been as good as his turtle costume from last year. Fiona looked stunning as a cow.
Fiona Julia was born one week ago today. We are lucky to have a sweet baby girl, and a wonderful boy, who’s made it even easier for us with the new addition. Fiona has been gracious in sleeping for 3+ hour stretches at night. We’re also glad that we have been able to have so many friends and family come by to meet the little one and to help us out. Here’s a quick review of the week:
Fiona is born at 5:50 AM. Cynthia and Fiona stay at the hospital. Matt gets home to Brooklyn at 7:30 AM. Matt, Diego, Margarita and Mohamed head to the hospital at 11. Eileen, Arlene, Rebecca, Leslie, and Jeff also come by for a visit.
Cynthia and the new baby get some rest. Matt and Diego visit Cynthia and Fiona at the hospital in the afternoon. Mohamed and Margarita come for a visit in the evening.
Cynthia and Fiona come home! Eileen watched Diego while Matt picked up Cynthia and Fiona. Max, Nicole, Marlowe, and Colin came by in the afternoon. The cousins had a lot of fun playing together and Nicole made pesto for all of us.
Starting to get back to normal, Diego went to school in the morning (9-noon). Fiona had her first check-up with the pediatrician in the morning. She’s still a little bit jaundiced, but was good for the doc and generally in good shape. Ivana, Mateo, and Luka stopped by for a quick visit after school to say hi to Fiona. Matt and Diego went to the Prospect Park Zoo in the afternoon.
Margarita came by for a visit and to take Diego out to Underhill Playground. Cynthia and Matt (and Fiona) got some sleep during the day.
Lots of visitors and gifts for Fiona on Saturday. Andy and Lissette came by and brought us lunch (tacos, thanks). The whole Yahia crew came over in the afternoon — Johnny, Irene, Alyson, and R.J., Leslie and John, and Margarita and Mohamed. We ordered pizza from Amorina for dinner. It arrived just in time.
We invited friends over to visit in the afternoon, including friends from work and from our parents’ group when Diego was born. Becky and Max also came by for a quick visit.
